If you’re staying home for Spring Break, there’s lots to do in Kansas City. The Good Morning Show asked for your ideas and you came up with a fantastic list. Here’s what we got:
Oz Museum (Wamego, KS) – The Museum has exclusive exhibits that feature the earliest Baum books and OZ Parker Brothers board games to collectibles.
Kidscape (Shawnee Mission, KS) – KidScape is a fully-immersive, interactive history experience where kids time travel to different periods and communities from the region’s past.
Ceramic Cafe (Overland Park, KS) -This is a paint-your-own-pottery and glass fusing studio. You’ll be guided through the entire creative process.
Inspired Play Cafe (Leawood, KS) -This is an open space faith based cafe where parents and caregivers can come work while their children play and grab something healthy to eat. You can also watch your children socialize, meet a friend, or just get out of the house and play in a new space!
Fort Osage -(Sibley, MO) -Fort Osage is a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1808, under the direction of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, Fort Osage served a dual roles as both a military garrison and a trade center.
Fritz’s (Kansas City, MO) -Fritz’s is a Railroad Restaurant where you can order your food by telephone and it’s brought to your table by an overhead train.
Clinton’s Soda Fountain (Independence, MO) -This is an old-fashioned soda fountain shop where you can order a sundae or phosphate, and relax after a day of sightseeing and shopping.
Vaile Mansion (Independence, MO) -The mansion was built in 1881 and was considered the most comfortable home in the entire west. The home is on North Liberty Street, a mile north of the historic Independence Square.
Harry S Truman National Historic Site (Independence, MO) – The site includes the Truman Home and the Truman Farm Home in Grandview, Missouri. Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States, lived in the home from 1919 until 1972.
North Kansas City YMCA (Kansas City, MO) – The “Y” includes cardio and strength training units, an indoor pool, indoor basketball courts and Kids Zone.
Kansas City Zoo (Kansas City, MO) – The Kansas City Zoo is a 202-acre zoo located in Swope Park.
Union Station/ Science City (Kansas City, MO) -Science City at Union Station is a family-friendly interactive science center with more than 120 hands-on displays.
Great Wolf Lodge ( Kansas City, KS) – An indoor waterpark resort with a lazy river, water slides, and other attractions.
National Frontier Trails Museum (Independence, MO) – Museum & interpretive center that explores the history of the settlement of the American West.
