Hey everyone it’s T.J. from the Life 88.5 Good Morning Show. God has a way of opening some pretty incredible doors in our lives. A couple of months ago I was presented with the privilege to embark on a journey that would send myself and 12 of my colleagues at Northwestern Media to Honduras with a organization called OneChild. I want to invite you to share in this remarkable experience. I’m going to document our trip on this page to help give you a first hand experience of the amazing work OneChild does to bless kids around the world. Before this journey begins you can learn more about the organization OneChild by visiting onechild.org.
I’m excited to share this journey with you!

So I wasn’t wanting an extended stay in Houston but unfortunately that’s what I got. At the last moment last night my flight was canceled. After a quick stay at a hotel I’m back at the airport at 3:20 am waiting to go through security. My 2:30 pm touchdown in Kansas City can’t come soon enough!

Sometimes you visit a place and it holds a special place in your heart. Tegucigalpa Honduras will be that place for me. So much heartbreak but at the same time this incredible passion by One Child and their Hope Centers to share the love of Jesus with so many kids. Those kids have incredible dreams and now a knowledge that Jesus loves them and can use them to be the change in their communities and country! Until we meet again Honduras!

On the way back to the hotel we stopped at a local grocery story to get supplies for the trip home. It was really neat to experience a grocery store in Honduras.

So a full blown concert is happening in the parking lot of our hotel tonight! There was also a wedding at the hotel today. This must be the place to be tonight.

Okay wow so much to unpack from today! We visited a One Child Hope Center that was 40 minutes northwest of our hotel in an area called Comayagua, also called a hot zone because of all the crime and gang activity in the area. On the way to the Hope Center my friend Andy and I pumped up soccer balls to give to some of the kids.

Tomorrow we will be visiting one of the Hope Centers to meet with some kiddos. Each of OneChild’s Hope Centers is connected to a local church. We’ll distributing some soccer balls, school supplies and hot wheels. Big day tomorrow, good night from Honduras!
