Offenses build fences between us and those we love. Forgiveness builds gates. Offenses build fences. Forgiveness builds gates.

Proverbs tells us “love prospers when a fault is forgiven but dwelling on it separates close friends.” Being willing to let go in order to hold on to relationships, that’s hard. Being quick to forgive and slow to give up is something I can’t do without Christ. Only with Him can I forgive and “Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.”

No one wants to be fenced in by their own unforgiveness. Both forgiveness and gates are good!
