Do you ever stand with your refrigerator door wide open, looking for something “good” to satisfy your cravings? I do. My fridge and my life have much in common. Both are filled, yet I crave more.

I crave meaning and purpose more than meat and potatoes.

I long for more love and less leftovers.

And sometimes I need help. Like the shelves of my fridge, my schedule becomes so crammed I struggle to find what I need most. That’s when I look to my Savior who says, in Matthew 11:28:

Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

It’s amazing what a few minutes spent resting in prayer or scripture can do for our sapped souls.  That’s why I’m reaching out to you through the ministry of Life 88.5 as a fellow sojourner who loves God and sometimes just needs a little encouragement to make it through the day.

My prayer is that together we’ll find that His love energizes us more than chocolate…or even caffeine (which I enjoy every day). With Him by our side, might we see the sticky fingerprints left by our family on the fridge door as blessings, rather than just something else that needs to be cleaned? Let’s look to Him for calming perspective, to see His imprint in the smudged moments of our everyday life! I hope you’ll join me regularly here on the website.
