Grandview Firefighter Food Drive

The Grandview Firefighters are holding a food drive to benefit the Grandview Assistance Program (GAP). The GAP helps the Grandview, Missouri community through a variety of programs. They have been helping families and individuals for over 25 years. They provide emergency assistance with food, and holiday meals in November and December. The Grandview Firefighters have been supporting a food drive to help fill the shelves of the food pantry at the GAP since 2012, we are continuing this year with a food drive from the 1st of October until the 15th of November. Non-perishable food products can be dropped off at Grandview Fire Department Station 1, at 7005 Highgrove Rd, Grandview, Mo. 64030 until the morning of November 15th.

Fall Foriaged Centerpiece Design Workshop

Fall Foraged Floral Centerpiece design workshop on Tuesday October 16th from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Junque 101 in Olathe KS. Learn the art of foraging and creating a fall fresh floral table arrangment. Perfect for hosting fall partys or just hanging out with friends and family. Class size is limited so grab your spot today! In this workshop you will learn: *A simple garden design style. *How to forage and use unique elements in your designs * Learn simple floral skills and basic design. Great for beginners or seasoned designers. * Arranging in floral foam and Chicken wire. * Demo of design/techniques and hands on flower arranging with a guide and instructor to help. GriefShare Meetings

GriefShare Meetings Meet Weekly on Wednesdays September 5 through December 12 (except November 21, 2018) South Haven Baptist Church, 16800 Bel-Ray Boulevard, Belton, Missouri, will be offering a special, 14-week seminar/support group for people grieving the death of someone close. GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. GriefShare videos contain interviews with leading authors, counselors, speakers, and pastors with years of expertise in grief recovery. Meetings are Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. You may join this group anytime during the thirteen weeks. For more information contact the church office at 816-322-0409.

Get an early start on your Christmas shopping list while helping make Kansas City a better place! Holiday Mart is the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri’s largest fundraiser. This upscale shopping extravaganza has been a fall tradition for thirty years and is an extra special destination event. With over 200 specialty retailers and more than 20,000 shoppers, the proceeds from Holiday Mart support community projects sponsored by JLKCMO. Since it began in 1988, Holiday Mart has helped to raise nearly $11 million for Kansas City community projects and the Junior League’s mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving our community. HaYesod: Foundations of the Faith

Help Stop Human Trafficking and Hunger One Goat at a Time

Spring Valley Baptist Church will be selling bookmarks designed by members and key-chains created by our ladies for $1.00 each with all proceeds going to our Goat Ministry through World Vision. We will be doing this at Walmart at 10300 E State Rte 350, Raytown, MO 64138. We are giving families a hand-up with the gift of a goat. This gift will enable them to provide milk, cheese, yogurt and butter for their family, selling any excess in a marketplace so they can purchase medicine, school supplies, clothes and be able to get other types of food besides dairy products. It keeps children in a stable home environment.
